The Reunion
After three long days of traveling we are finally there. We are going to spend 1 1/2 days in Fort Robinson. Our first day is pretty laid back. We arrived here at around 3:30 and sat around with the relatives for a while.
Steve and Russ prepared steaks for the Bus relatives. After dinner we headed up to a covered shed were all the Joneses met to mingle. The kids got into a foot ball game and the adults talked for a few hours. The night went smoothly and in the same lazy way it began it ended. Day 1 was over.
Day 2, Saturday was a different story. Spencer was insisting on going on a horse back ride and Steve, Dexter and Russ all wanted to go on a tour of the old Jones' estates with Uncle Pat. Spencer and Whitney stayed at the campground, waiting until the horse ride started. The rest of us went on the tour.
We were back at the campground by 1:00 PM. Spencer and Whitney did not go on the first horse ride. They were signed op for the 2 o'clock ride. Russ decided he would go with them. Pictures were postponed until 4 so Dexter and Grandpa had time for lunch before showering.
After pictures was the "talent" show. It lasted almost two hours. Spencer, Dexter and Russ were all sucked into it. The potlatch was the nights main event. With almost every kind of food imaginable it was very welcomed. After everyone had eaten, a piņata was brought out and the kids lined up. What a mistake. Again, the night settled in and people began to head for their beds. Day 2 was over.
The next day everyone was going to breakfast and then make a mad break for their homes. Everyone crowded into a small diner in the park. People said goodbyes and left. The reunion was over.
